Close Every Avenue to the Tempter


Brethren, pray at home, in your family, night and morning; pray earnestly in your closet; and while engaged in your daily labor, lift up the soul to God in prayer. It was thus that Enoch walked with God. AH 212.4

—All who name the name of Christ need to watch and pray and guard the avenues of the soul, for Satan is at work to corrupt and destroy if the least advantage is given him.8

Praying without ceasing allows us to live our lives with a continual ascending prayer where we consult God in every life circumstance. When we don’t value the privilege of prayer by rushing through, asking for help only when we are in trouble–we don’t experience the true joy of communing with God.

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Take time to pray as soon as you wake up . Make prayer as your first activity and end your day with prayers too.
